Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday of the year. I love everything about the holiday season however, it can also cause headaches when you don’t know what to get your loved ones and/or significant other. Men are especially hard because they’re either not that vocal about it or they have everything that they could want. These gift ideas are things that have worked for me so I hope they will work for you. Also, I buy all my gifts online usually using Ebates. Here is the list of 12 things that would make great gifts for the guy in your life.
- Shoes or clothes. Yes this isn’t that “personal” but they love it. Especially if you are buying them something that you know they’ve been wanting. Maybe even get them something that they can wear for your Christmas party or for NYE.
- Video games. I know this is not one of my favorite things to get a guy but if playing video games is their hobby then that is definitely a gift that they will appreciate.
- Stuff for their car. This might seem lame to us girls, but men will appreciate the thought. You can also make them a gift basket or box with different things for their car that can include a phone charger, air fresheners, steering wheel cover, etc.
- School gear. By this I mean anything that has to do with their university such as a sweater, car decals, sweat pants or any other gift items with their school logo. I know this is something that guys don’t usually buy for themselves so it’s a great gift.
- Cologne. This is a win win item for both you and your guy because you can pick out a scent you like and he will always wear it.
- Sport event tickets. If they are huge sport fans then buying them tickets to say a basketball game or football game would be great.
- Personalized calendar. Giving him a personalized calendar with pictures of your year together is awesome and really thoughtful. I’ve done this and he has loved it. Just make sure not to put too many corny pics because you wouldn’t want him to not want to show it off. Pictures of both of you as well as of places you’ve been too are good ideas. I always make my personalized calendar through Walgreens Photo.
- Pj’s. Guys tend to only have one pair of pj pants that they use daily but those can get gross and old pretty fast. I would even go as far as buying your guy a pair of PJs that match yours. I’m thinking a themed onesie :)
- Skin care/ Hair care products. This seems like a really basic every day product but you can get them a really nice brand of skin care items specifically for men. A lot of brands will also sell a set of skin and hair care products in a holiday themed box which is really nice.
- Watch or Fitness band. Some men are really into fitness while others are really into fashion so they’d appreciate one of the two. Macy’s is one of the best places to shop for watches while Best Buy or Target is the place to shop for fitness bands.
- Headphones. If they are into fitness get them bluetooth wireless headphones that they can use at the gym. If they travel a lot or listen to music while at home then Beats over the ear headphones are probably going to be better for them.
12. Wallet. A ton of guys get a wallet when they hit puberty and then don't buy another for like years and years (and years). Their wallet is probably falling apart but they still won't buy themselves a new one so getting them a new wallet would be a great gift for them. If you personalize it for them it's even better. Again, don't put a lovey dovey quote (unless they like it) when you personalize it. Maybe his name or something funny he says maybe even an inside joke between the two of you would be better. You wouldn't want them to accidentally "lose" their new wallet that says Merry Christmas Pookie Bear a week after you give it to them right?
These are gifts that I've given in the past and that have definitely been appreciated by the men in my life (bf, brother, dad). One quick tip is to not stress over the monetary value of the gift. Especially if you're in a new relationship then I don't think you should stress about getting a guy you started dating 4 months ago a new phone or a PS4.
